Al Thumama Stadium, Doha, its perforated gahfiya-patterned facade seen from above.

A 40,000-seat venue built for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Al Thumama Stadium takes its form from the gahfiya, the traditional Gulf headcap, translated into a perforated, rhomboidal facade that shifts between translucent and opaque as the light changes through the day and into the night.
